About Harris Tweed
Harris Tweed is a premium tweed made from pure wool yarn which is dyed and spun in the Scottish Outer Hebrides and woven by hand in homes of local crofters. It is a warm, durable and water resistant natural fabric making it ideal for many uses. Harris Tweed, due to its robust nature, is a great upholstery fabric offering longevity to any item of furniture as well as a stylish look and feel.
Harris Tweed is the only fabric protected by law, specifically The Harris Tweed Act of Parliament 1993 which strictly outlines the conditions in which the cloth can genuinely be made.
